Well, I guess it's been a while. Time travels fast, huh? But, good news, more information on the Devéria family has been found, apparently Paul-Constant Devéria had a second wife, Sarah Ann Fitzjohn, and had five children together. Some of these children had already been found on sites as seen on the Deveria search page. No connection was known to others, though.

So, a great big thanks goes out to David Fitzjohn, who sent us four pages filled with details on these people. Hopefully they will be added to the on-line tree shortly.

Updated the family tree pages a little, now with a couple more pictures too. Any family member that would like to have a picture showing, please contact me about it.

Oh yeah, I've also changed all the timestamps in this blog to show the months in letters to end the confusion (mainly my own).

Hurray! An update. Not much of one though, just the flash file on the index page. Maybe more soon. Oh, and happy new year!

Lack of updates due to lack of updates.

Obviously.

However, if you'd like to know about the updates of my own homepage, check out my new Flash blog there.

Finally the details I'd promised:

About the people I'd mentioned who knew of a T. Deveria, they are Simon and Jaqui Bowen, and Audrey & Douglas Augier. Their family tree had an Elizabeth/Lise Augier which we had as Lise Ogier. By comparing dates and locations, we both decided they were the same.

The Augier family put together a site of their Indian family here (currently in draft version). They're still doing research so I might receive more information from them at a later date. In turn, I've given the information about the Devéria family tree including the children of Théodule and Lise Devéria.

Regarding the Deveria short film, here's what Mat Fuller's told me about its title:

When I was a young boy my mother had a book with pictures of paintings from the Lourve in Paris. One portrait scared and intrigued me at the same time, and I used to have re-occuring dreams about this frightening man with a goatee from the painting. A few years ago I had the dream again, much the way Haden has in the begining of the film where the Goatee man stabs him with the dancing girl frozen behind him. This gave me the idea for the film.

The portrait I speak of is a portrait of Archille Deveria, painted by Louis Boulanger in the early 1800's. Both men as I understand it were French.

Because of the dreams I felt the title Deveria was the best name for the film. Also, the way Deveria is pronounced in terms of the movie (duh-vare-e-uh) has the sound of a mental problem like Hysteria or Hyposthesia, or Dementia.

He went me the painting he'd mentioned, which I've put here.

Also, when I asked him about a feature movie that I'd read he was going to be make out of it from some other site, he said this:

Yes, I plan to name the feature movie Deveria. The script is written and is slowly making the Hollywood rounds. I hope to have the money in six months to a year or so. I have a few named actors giving it a read so we will see.

So all in all, impressive stuff! For those of you (there are people actually looking at this site, right? Right?) who can't be bothered to regularly look at the Deveria movie page, I will myself and mention updates on it right here on this blog.

Well, it's been an interesting week for Deveria.com ...the main page has a flash thingie on it, the tree page has been improved with css and some other minor tweaks, and family research has given quite some interesting results. Of these I've been in contact with the only other people on Ancestry.com who knew of a T. Deveria, and the discovery of the Deveria short film by Mat Fuller. Details (hopefully) coming soon.

There we go...this blog (site log) now has a page of its own for those who don't care about it on the main page...I guess I'll sort things out better at a later date, as usual. Latest news it that /alexis/ now does indeed is a page with links on it to pictures and stuff I've done. Oh, and of course the /tree/ that indeed, has the family tree on it. Still working on everything...

Okay...if you're wondering what's up with the order of these time-stamps and what this text's supposed to prove, don't ask me, I haven't a clue. However, I did add a page with links to informative Devéria sites. It'll probably prove only useful to me and other Devéria researchers to make up the Family Tree part of this site, but hey, now it's online for your benefit too.

Also, to make the é, type Alt-130. I'm sure you were always wondering that.

Welcome to Deveria.com. This is the on-line home of the Devéria family, past and present.

In time, this site will contain information about the Devéria family tree and will host pages submitted by any living relatives.

Currently this site is being created and maintained by Alexis Devéria. His (or indeed, my) own personal page can be found here.
