If you would like to copy and paste information directly from another site (not for descriptions/reviews of course), click on the "Show Importer" link at the top-right. This will attempt to import the information you have pasted. Read the individual site notes (see the "note" links on the importer section) for details on the information to use.
General Info
All the initial parts of the Infobox, click on "W" to open a wikipedia page by this name. Brackets are added for the final output, Designer, Engine and Version are optional.
Platforms
Either click on the links in the second row to add a platform, or select one from the drop down list and click "Add". Click "Clear" to remove all selected platforms. The links in the first row change the type of platforms in the second row. To start the platforms at a certain "Generation" you can use the gen parameter described below.
Release Date
Select all known information, then click "Add". Multiple platforms will be available when selected under "Platforms".
Genre
Select any appropriate genre, then click "Add".
Ratings
Select known rating(s)
Media, Requirements, Input
Click on link to add these optional fields. They should be used for PC games or console games where the input differs from the standard controller. Media: Select type, count, click "Add". Requirements: Add terms as per usual, keeping in mind that they may require additional values like "133 MHz" before "CPU". Input: Add like before.
Final Output
Click "Generate Final Code" to do so, which will replace previous contents of the text area. Clicking on checkboxes will add further information to the article.
Note that while some sections require you to just type in or select one option, others have their own textarea with (temporary) output. These can also be typed in without any selected option. Keep in mind that this generator is by no means official, nor is the output necessarily correct or appropriate for Wikipedia.
URL parameters
The Infobox Maker supports some parameters you can enter in the URL as a quick way to customize its display. The parameters are:
Console Generation
Allows you to set the default console generation, causing only the platforms around that generation to appear. Default is the current generation.
Usage: cvgibmaker.html?gen=x where "x" = generation number, 1 through 7. Or simply use cvgibmaker.html?7.
Minimal mode
When set, this hides any additional notes on the page, saving a little scrolling time. Default is off. This should only be selected by experienced users who know what the notes say already.
Usage: cvgibmaker.html?min=y. Or simply use cvgibmaker.html?,y.
Platform icons
Allows you to display icons with or instead of the text links for platforms. The icons are stored on the page as Data URIs (so they will still work when this file is saved elsewhere), which Internet Explorer does not support. Opera, Firefox, Safari and variants display them appropriately. Note that not all platforms have an icon, in which case the text will still appear.
Usage: cvgibmaker.html?icons=x where "x" = y for yes (on), or b for both. Or simply use cvgibmaker.html?,,y.
Combining parameters:
All parameters can be combined using an & in between, for example cvgibmaker.html?gen=5&icons=b will display 5th generation platforms, not in compact mode, and using both text and icons for platform links. This can also be done in shorthand like this: cvgibmaker.html?5,,b. Note that the shorthand notation requires the order to be kept the same way, with commas separating the parameters.

Updated "Help" page .
Now accepting second URL parameter for "compact mode". This will automatically hide unnecessary parts of the form. Only recommended if you know about the stuff you're hiding. See "Help" for usage and details.
Now accepting third URL parameter for platform icons. See "Help" for usage and detail. So far, only a handful of platforms have icons. I will likely add more, but not for every system since the logos for older platforms are probably not as well recognised.
